Born in St.Louis, Missouri on August 15,1935, the artist presently winters in
Punta Gorda, Florida, and spends his summers in Fitchburg, Wisconsin, just
outside of Madison. The artist moved to Kenosha, Wisconsin at an early age
and attended schools there, graduating from Mary D. Bradford High School in
1954.

Following graduation, he began work at Wisconsin Telephone, enjoying a
successful thirty year career. He retired in 1986, and began a second career
as an artist.

His work has been included in more than 100 National and International juried
exhibitions in this country, plus Europe, Scandinavia, and Asia. He has had 29
individual showings of his work in museums and galleries across the country.

Mr. Ruble has been the recipient of 42 major awards, including special
purchase awards from the Oklahoma Art Center in Oklahoma City and the
Metropolitan Museum and Art Center in Miami. His work is included in more
than 50 museum and public collections, including the Honolulu Academy of
Arts; the Butler Institute of American Art in Ohio; the Minneapolis Museum of
Art; the Art Museum of the City of Sacramento; the Flint Institute of Art in
Michigan; and the Mint Museum in Charlotte, North Carolina.

He is an elected member of the Los Angeles Printmaking Society in.
California, as well as the Audubon Artists and the prestigious Society of
American Graphic Artists, both headquartered in New York City.

His work was featured in Print Review 13, detailing Twenty Five Years of
American Printmaking. It has appeared in many other publications over the
years. He has also been listed in Who's Who in American Art.

He has recently become a published author with his book "Dear Alfie", a
coming of age novel detailing some of his experiences while growing up in
Kenosha, Wisconsin.
